another Circular Knitting Needle question?
you know how when you cast on, one side of the stitches looks neat and rolled and one side is kind of bumpy and ugly? i'm making a hat and i want the rolled side facing out cause it's going to be visible, but i knit continental (working yarn coming from left side) and when i cast on the rolled side of the stitches are facing in. is this always going to happen? do you think i could turn it inside out when i'm finished, or would the bit at the crown look weird?
You can do reverse stockinette - basically purling all of the time so that when you turn up the brim you will see the Vs of the knit side on the edge. This would keep the peak on the inside if that is what you are concerned about.
What you may want to do is a different type of cast on if you don't like the way the one you use looks -- I do a twisted German cast on http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/cast-on and the Italian cast on
